Fund I, which is almost fully deployed, was a basic fund structure whereby money was raised and then called at intervals. As we look to kick off Fund II, we appreciate the world is a tad different these days. So, we are adopting the latest flavour of the month in the VC world; The Rolling Fund structure. It'll be similar to a membership structure where a semi-annual contribution is agreed to before hand, and called at pre-determined, 6 month intervals, to be deployed in a pre-ordained timeline. There will be differing hurdle rates (we can discuss that further) and a handling and carry fee that we will charge.

Fund I was launched in September of 2018, so it is difficult to give an absolute answer to this question. We have had some tremendous success stories through the last two years, with companies really proving their resilience and anti-fragility through the pandemic. We are nearing a few exits at impressive multiples and have seen our companies grow at breakneck speed. It is safe to say we have surpassed even our wildest expectations and place in the upper percentiles of performance against best in class, similar stage and sector VC funds.

Our strategy is three-pronged; we hunt for the most amazing founders across the best campuses (MIT, Harvard, Imperial, Cambridge, Oxford, UCL) before they've even spun out their companies, we lean on local and international VC funds to add us to rounds that they are leading (something we don't have the capacity for yet), and we rely on existing founders to recommend us to their entrepreneurial founder community. With these three methods, and a reputation for being founder friendly and transparent in our dealings, we have quickly built up an immensely rewarding deal flow pipeline which our investors have benefitted from.
